Bubba the Love Sponge says walking away from a lousy deal with Sirius XM a few years back was one of the biggest career mistakes of his life. The Tampa based radio host appeared on the Howard Stern Show Monday morning and said he's ready to pucker up and smooch the hind quarters of every executive at the company if it gets him his gig on satellite radio back.
Bubba the Love Sponge was featured on Howard Stern's secondary Sirius XM channel Howard 101 from 2006 through the end of 2010. When contract renewal time came, Bubba and his team got the cold shoulder from management, even after Howard Stern had officially re-upped for another five year contract. When Bubba's contract officially ran out at midnight on December 31, 2010 that he was taking it upon himself to permanently sever ties with Sirius and branch out on his own to internet radio. Two years later, Bubba told Stern that he is now willing to "kiss whoever's a** I need to" to get his deal back.
"I’d like to have some conversations, maybe come back here in some capacity," said Bubba.“I miss you guys so much. Probably one of the biggest mistakes I made was not accepting their pennies on the dollar offer, and just to have your rub. Just to be in your family is worth—ya know...Trying to kiss some a** to get back here. I’ll kiss whoever’s a** I need to. Robin’s, Fred’s, doesn’t matter. Even Benjy.” Bubba the Love Sponge appeared on Monday's Stern Show along with his new girlfriend Nikki, with whom he's already been discussing marriage.
